Green, Active and Healthy Neighbourhoods

Over the past decades, the massive switch to car use as the preferred transportation mode along with the required city infrastructure to accommodate car trips have led to major environmental and health problems to the urban environment.

The switch to active transport modes (walking, cycling, etc.) can lead to a considerable reduction of these problems and a higher quality of life in city neighbourhoods. However, in order to make this transition possible, adequate infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists is a prerequisite.
