Call for Organizers of Car-Free Day in our Neighbourhoods

The Montreal Urban Ecology Centre invites citizen committees, neighbourhood organizations and commercial avenues to close a street section to traffic on September 22nd, 2010.

Why September 22nd ?

Every year since 2003, on September 22nd the AMT (Agence métropolitaine de transport) organizes Car-Free Day (En ville sans ma voiture), a global movement to raise awareness and promote improvements to public transit, biking and walking; and to build cities where people work in proximity to where they live and daily needs are at walking distance. In 2009 more than 1300 cities, around the world, participated.
